Global Bioenergetics Ltd Introduces New Bioemitters for Fish Cages
Global Bioenergetics Ltd will be presenting the new BIOEMITTER at the
Aquaculture Conference in April 2007. The Bioemitter system has been designed
to eliminate sea lice, viruses and bacteria without the need for chemical
intervention. The technology works by emitting electromagnetic waves specially
encoded to target the problem disease or pathogen within the cages. By doing so
it also boosts the fish immune systems, increasing their resistance to disease
and creates a more balanced environment for the fish to live in. For the farmer
it reduces chemical cost, mortality rates and realises increased profit.
The Bioemitter system is provided on a rental basis and four emitters are placed
within a cage. Through the rental period the system can be reprogrammed to deal
with any specific problem that may threaten the crop. As part of the contract
the farmer receives nutritional advice as part of the environmental package
ensuring that husbandry and welfare all contribute fully to a healthy,
toxin-free and nutritious fish crop!
Richard Kenchington, CEO and designer of the Bioemitter said:

"Trials in salmon farms in Ireland have shown a decrease in sea lice numbers and

environmental legislation going through European and Scottish Parliament,
farmers need to find a way of adapting to a more sustainable and environmentally
friendly method to tackle pests and diseases on their fish farms. Our
