PETFROST Produces Brackish or Fresh Gemicidal Water
Peter Taboada is a company that designs and manufactures water treatment systems with more than 25 years of experience in this field. After many years of research and development Peter Taboada has finished a system for producing germicidal water.
This system produces brackish or fresh germicidal water between 1.000 and 1.200 Redox. We have tested different kinds of fish and the system reduces pathogen germs and bacteria up to 90%. Listeria is one of the bacteria tested and by washing the fish with our system we are able to eliminate it up to 85%.
This project has been developed together with the Marine Investigation Institute that takes part in the CSIC and the CETMAR (Sea Technology Center).
Some of the bigger Spanish Smoked Salmon companies have tested the system and the results have been very surprising. At the moment they are working with the machine and they have increased the expiry date of their smoked fish from 60 to 85%.
Beside the application of this system in fish, we are also testing its development with fruits, vegetables, poultry and pork. The reduction (of GRAM + AND GRAND - bacteria, psycrophiles, thermophiles and other problematic organism as the "listeria monocytogenes" and the salmonella number of bacteria in these fields has also been very surprising.
Germicidal water produced by the system may also be used to clean all the machines and tools used in the production process.
Tests made with fruits and vegetables do not change the color nor the taste of the product.
